Pocket Screw Tips

I am a big fan of the Kreg Pocket Screw Fastening System and I use the Standard and the HD sizea. I use the HD system for my 2 x 4 projects that require the strength that the HD provides. I use the Standard on all the material thicknesses that it is suitable for. The drill guide systems that I have are the least expensive with the fewest features. I am referring to the guides to setup the drill stop and the jig setting. While the jig setting can be done with a combination square set to the proper offset, I don't seem to have enough hands to set the drill collar. So what I do is set the drill stop for the 1 1/2" material thickness and make spacers that slide on the drill to provide the correct length for the 3/4 and 1/2 thicknesses:
3/4 uses 11/16
1/2 uses 1
You could use a piece of wood with a through hole or a piece of tubing cut to the right length.
